In many ways, the coronavirus pandemic has brought people together for one common goal: help each other during these trying times. With the world in crisis, M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. sprung into action to aid Filipinos affected by job loss, hunger, and stress from keeping their family safe.
With these challenges on the horizon, the OPEC from their respective regions came up with donation drives, feeding programs, and care packs among others to help several barangays in need.
Saving Lives One Road Sign at a Time
With several checkpoints imposed, M Lhuillier saw the need to provide our police and
military with roadblock signages to increase visibility along highways and boundaries, maintain peace and order among civilians, and check the drivers' and passengers' compliance with the health protocols mandated by the local health authorities.
Two of our OPEC Groups have made this project their mission and both groups chose the Philippine National Police (PNP) as their beneficiary.
Last January 29-30, OPEC Leyte Movers donated three (3) sets of road signs to PNP Bontoc, PNP Biliran, and the PNP Ormoc Mobile. The official turnover was spearheaded by the Area Manager and selected employees of M Lhuillier.
Likewise, OPEC T’nalak did their part by donating two (2) sets of roadblock signages to President Quirino and Impao checkpoints located in the Soccsksargen region last May.
Apart from the signages, the team gave away t-shirts and drinking water to all PNP
staff onsite. With this undertaking, M Lhuillier hopes to curb the spread of the virus and reduce unforeseen accidents, thus saving the lives of each Filipino with one road sign at a time.
Feeding the Frontliners
M Lhuillier continued with its quest in being a socially responsible company through OPEC Aurum Gems of ZASURMIS Region as they conducted a feeding program last February 24 to all Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel manning all checkpoints on the border between Misamis Occidental up to Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur. Spearheaded by OPEC President, Ms. Sharline Bantilan, along with Regional Manager, Mr. Ronilo Sanchez, Area Managers, selected OPEC officers, and Brand Managers, the team gave packed lunches, bottles of Mont St. Michel purified water, M Lhuillier-branded towels, and t-shirts.
Giving Back to the Frontliners on the Road
On February 18, OPEC Leyte Movers brought smiles to the Traffic Enforcement Team from Ormoc City as new sets of uniforms were personally turned over to the team.
On March 27, the same team donated long-sleeve shirts to the tricycle drivers of Motorpot Association. These uniforms would be used in their daily operations to have a unified and
professional look.
With mass transportation discouraged, many Filipino drivers find it difficult to navigate in the new normal with their livelihood affected. As restrictions are slowly eased and drivers slowly return on the road, M Lhuillier pledges to continue its support, offering hope and buoying their spirits during these challenging times.
M Lhuillier Gives Life to Eden
M Lhuillier made bringing clean water its mission to underprivileged communities. Through the “Give Life to Eden'' project, OPEC Golden Grains lent a helping hand to the students and faculty members of Eden Integrated School at Barangay Eden, Cabarroguis Quirino by sponsoring the repairs of their water tank and hoses to provide clean water not just to the school, but also the whole community of the barangay.
An official turnover ceremony was held last March 5, attended by the OPEC group as well as the school’s principal and faculty.
Dunk Your Junk in Cavite
OPEC Kalayaan thought of a creative way to encourage three (3) barangays in Cavite
by coming up with the “Dunk Your Junk” project to make disposing of used plastic bottles more fun for everyone. The group donated customized basketball-inspired garbage bins to Barangay Big in Tanza, Barangay Sabang in Naic, and Barangay Burol II in Dasmariñas. Other exclusive M Lhuillier giveaways were also given much to the delight of the barangay officials who were present during the official turnover last March 18.
Gifting Face Masks and other Supplies to Mindanao Barangays
OPEC Tuna Generals of the SARGEN region stepped up to provide their community with face masks and other supplies which were turned over to their chosen barangays in Sarangani Province and Sultan Kudarat last April. The team led by Regional Manager Isagani Lauronilla and OPEC President Robert Jake Gotubat, provided face masks, computer set, M Lhuillier branded sweatshirts, t-shirts, and aprons.
Donating Medicines to Leyte Health Centers
M Lhuillier believes everyone deserves a chance for a healthy life. Last April 30,OPEC Leyte Movers helped kids stay healthy and thrive by donating children's vitamins to the Health Centers in Barangay Cagnocot and Barangay Hiluctogan in Leyte.
