Sacks of rice for Covid-19 positive patients
M Lhuillier OPEC Support Officers sent their assistance to the New Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (Noah) Complex on July 9, 2020. The donation was turned over to Noah Complex facility manager Atty. Joy Pesquera and Noah welfare office Dr. Ester Concha.
The Noah Complex is located along the South Road Properties and is one of the dedicated quarantine facilities in Cebu City that houses Covid-19 positive patients who are asymptomatic. The center can accommodate more than 300 patients who have mild to moderate cases from the different barangays throughout the Queen City of the South.
M Lhuillier provided each patient with 10-kilo rice packs as a way of showing support as they take on the road to recovery. The donation is just one of the projects that M Lhuillier has launched in line with its commitment to assist the Filipino people in times of crisis.
Liquid Refreshments for Frontliners
M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. extended its help through OPEC Panay Hugyaw, OPEC Naliyagan and OPEC Zambasulta-Vinta in bringing frontliners a source of refreshment and as a way to make its presence felt anywhere.
On April 2, 2020, OPEC Panay Hugyaw contributed and distributed one case of 600 ml of water in every border checkpoint in the Capiz area of Roxas City.
In response to help frontliners’ fight against an invisible enemy, OPEC Naliyagan distributed bottles of water to frontliners in Caraga Region on April 24, 2020. The areas covered by the donation were Agusan del Sur-Surigao del Sur boundary checkpoint, MDRRMO of San Francisco, Rural Health Unit of San Francisco and various barangays in San Francisco.
As medical workers continue to risk their lives every day, M Lhuillier is with them in this battle. ML Cares Foundation through OPEC Zambasulta Vinta of M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. offered eight gallons of alcohol and 10 cases of Mont St. Michel mineral water to doctors and nurses in Zamboanga City Medical Center.
Present during the turnover ceremony on May 4, 2020 were Dr. Afdal Kunting, MD, OPEC president Ma. Jose Portuito, area manager Ramon Azuelo Jr. and OPEC officers Marvin Solon and Benjie Jay Tilag.
Offering of Essential Supplies to Frontliners and Communities
The Philippines is just one of the many countries greatly hit by Covid-19. As a result, the pandemic paralyzed the country’s economy and affected both government and private businesses. In order to temporarily relieve the struggles of its constituents, the Philippine government provided supplementary aids during the lockdown.
Despite the threat of Covid-19, M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. (ML) continued to provide its money transfer and remittance services to its valued patrons nationwide even during the enhanced community quarantine.
As a show of support and compassion to all ML frontliners, OPEC Lakbai distributed personal protective equipment such as face masks and shields and gloves to its employees as well as in different checkpoints.
OPEC Lakbai of Cebu North B with the intention to offer aid to its employees decided to give five kilos of Ganador rice to ML employees along with face shields and masks last April 2020. The distribution of sacks was led by regional manager Rodulfo Alburo Jr. and area managers Rosilyn Sumbise, Olga Muñoz, Dennis Singco, Julius Barriga and Jesielou Slava along with OPEC officers.
Finding ways and taking initiative in helping employees who are also considered as frontliners, the OPEC Gold team on April 2, 2020 with regional manager Jocelyn Gesulga and OPEC president Elvie Namocot showed their efforts and gave vitamins, rice, and other essential goods to their workers.
In the same way, OPEC Naliyagan also distributed relief packs to ML employees in Caraga since the region is also its area of responsibility.
M Lhuillier extended help to its employees in Zanorte Region during the lockdown period to support the daily needs of its employees. On April 7, 2020, personnel from ML Zanorte Region with OPEC BEST members prepared 238 packs of relief goods that contained vitamins, rice, canned goods and noodles.
The M Lhuillier company in Zanorte Region also distributed relief goods on April 17, 2020 to all checkpoints in the region with the aid of ML representatives headed by area managers and OPEC BEST members.
ML also visited several checkpoints in the east coast of Zamboanga City and distributed face masks, spray bottles with alcohol and bottles of Mont St. Michel mineral water to police frontliners.
After the surge of Covid-19 patients in Tarangnan Samar, ML joined different organizations and individuals in sharing resources like food water and personal protective equipment.
On May 2, 2020, M Lhuillier donated face shields and surgical face masks to Tarangnan Community Hospital. It was headed by the regional manager of Samar, Eutemio Cueva.
ML through OPEC Zambasulta Vinta added to its list of good deeds a donation made to the team of Police Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (RMFB9) in Camp Abedan Mercedez on May 26, 2020.
A turnover ceremony was held on the same day where ML Cares Foundation handed over a brand new computer set with printer, two gallons of alcohol, face masks and five cases of Mont St. Michel mineral water. It was spearheaded by OPEC president Ma. Jose Portuito with OPEC officers along with RMFB9 commander PTCOL. Mardito Anguluan and assisting officer PLT. Ma. Rozena Jalilula.
This pandemic has affected millions of families in the Philippines, specifically those with low income. To show an act of humanity, ML through OPEC Last Frontier donated assorted goods to Brgy. San Jose, Puerto Princesa City on May 30, 2020. The relief goods included rice, instant noodles and canned goods along with ML merchandise such as tote bags, t-shirts, sweatshirts, face towels, ballpens, and key chains. A total of 50 families in the city received assorted goods.
With the aim to help protect health frontliners in the battle against Covid19, ML Cares Foundation through OPEC Apoduwaling of M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. gave 10 gallons of alcohol, 50 pieces of washable face masks, 500 pieces of surgical gloves, 150 pieces of surgical face masks, and 50 pieces of face shields to Medical Mission Hospital in Davao City.
OPEC Dagyang of M Lhuillier Panay South Region placed its beneficiaries on top of mind, especially during lockdown and brought them protective gears and food supplies.
Five cases of ML water, 100 packs of snacks, and two boxes of surgical gloves were given to Guimaras frontliners by OPEC Dagyang. The Iloilo Provincial Sanitarium Hospital in the Municipality of Sta. Barbara also received two boxes of surgical gloves and three cases of ML water from OPEC Dagyang. The Iloilo City government, on the other hand, received 60 aprons from OPEC Dagyang.
Offering aid to health care workers during this pandemic, ML provided frontliners with over 4,000 face shields to the hospitals in Cebu namely Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, Chong Hua Hospital Fuente and Mandaue, Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital, Perpetual Soccour Hospital, Cebu City Medical Center, Velez General Hospital, St. Vincent General Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, Talisay District Hospital, Miller Hospital, Eversley Childs Sanitarium and General Hospital, Cortes General Hospital, UC Medical Center, Toledo Hospital, Mactan Doctors Hospital, ARC Hospital, Lapu-Lapu District Hospital, North General Hospital, South General Hospital, Mandaue District Hospital, and St. Anthony Mother and Child Hospital.
The Department of Health Central Visayas, Mandaue City Hall, Lapu-Lapu City and Consolacion Municipal Hall also received 455 face shields and 300 bottles of ML water while frontliners stationed in various checkpoints within Cebu City were given over 4,800 bottles of Mont St. Michel purified drinking water.
ML provided assistance to the residents of Sitio Zapatera, Barangay Luz and Barangay Hipodromo as well by distributing thousands of bottles in varying liters of Mont St. Michel purified drinking water.
In coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Iloilo City, ML also gave out 60 gift packs to selected households with PWD members in Iloilo City.
Lastly, free domestic send-out was given to all health care workers to help them connect with their families during these trying times.
